Session 7 - The One Where They Made Baby Noises At A Dragon

Image
25th Oct 2020 19:00 - 22:30 In-game timeline: DR1489 Elesias 6 - Eleasias 7 Our "Heroes" decide to heroically rest outside the Fallen Fortress, at the top of the ravine, having allowed the rescued kobolds return to Yussi at the Kobold Den, along with the young goblin girl, Hersch, who they promised to take good care of and try to ensure the next generation of goblins and kobolds may have a better working relationship. Meepo is rather critical of the number of rests our "Heroes" seem to take. The elves volunteer to take watch, allowing the dragonborn and human to have a full night's rest. Nothing seems to emerge from the fortress overnight, though there was some movement in the trees in the other direction. Carro tries to wake Kandi up with a badly aimed rock. And fails. The movement ceases. The rest of the night passes uneventfully. Heading back into the Fortress, the group of decisive adventurers wonder whether they should head in a different direction this tim...

Session 6 - The One Where They Ended Up Back Where They Started

Image
17th Oct 2020 19:00 - 22:00 In-game timeline: DR1489 Elesias 6 - Eleasias 6 Our "Heroes" are standing amongst a pair of dead goblins who paid a high price for daring to fire arrows at the party as they struggled to cross a caltrop-strewn floor. Our brave heroes, faced with an unknown number of unknown foes in an unknown room decided to turn back the way they came and look at a few other things more closely, that they only glanced at previously. They crept back to the dragon fountain room and looked at the fountain a bit more. Then went back up to the place where they had killed some rats previously, and progressed a little further, finding another dry dragon fountain in a room with two disarmed pit traps. The traps seemed to contain bones, bits of metal and lots of dirt and mess, so the party ignored those and headed towards a connecting room.  Carro spots movement in the room, and is not surprised when more giant rats emerge from the smelly mess to attack the party, includin...

Session 5 - The One Where They Forged Ahead

Image
11th Oct 2020 19:00 - 22:00 In-game timeline: DR1489 Elesias 6 - Eleasias 6 Our "Heroes" are standing before a fortress that, ages past, fell into a chasm by process unknown. Slightly battered and bruised from a run-in with some twigs, they are understandably cautious. Tommy decides to ignore the slightly open door and shimmy up the rough, crumbling walls to see if there's an alternative way in, or to see if he can get the jump of anybody waiting just inside. He manages to get up the wall, but the upper floor is completely crumbled and ruined, and the ceiling of the lower floor is intact, so he is unable to see down. So they walk in the door instead. How conventional. The first room is the remains of a circular tower. No way up as the old staircase is completely blocked, but there are two doors, leading north-west and south-west. Three bodies of kobolds lie on the floor, killed a while ago, and another is stapled to the far wall by a spear to his chest. Mahtis completely...

Session 4 - The One Where They Had A Mighty Battle

Image
28th Sep 2020 19:30 - 22:15 In-game timeline: DR1489 Elesias 5 - Eleasias 6 We rejoin the Heroes Of The Realm in Oakhurst, having spent time and money training up to become even more awesome than they were before, destroying beliefs that this was not possible. A trip to the shops was in order. Mahtis decided that asking to 'borrow' armour from the local guards would be a fine way to make friends in town. She was unfortunately, and unexplainedly, given short shrift from Felosial and her deputy, Helga, at such a suggestion, but was asked to visit the Mayor before they departed from the town, as word of their heroics had obviously reached the higher echelons of the town and Mayor Vernor Leng was keen to talk to them. Meanwhile Tommy, Carro and Kandi were visiting the general store and encountered a frog. Not a run-of-the-mill frog such as you may see on any lily-pond, but a giant frog, as large as a man, waiting patiently outside the shop. Kandi had the fantastic idea to cast ...

Session 3 - The One Where They Attended A Kobold Meeting

Image
20th Sep 2020 19:15 - 22:00 In-game timeline: DR1489 Elesias 4 - Eleasias 5 Having finally managed to cross a bridge, our "Heroes" sally forth into the Kobold den. The first door they come to has a slight sound of buzzing from beyond it. A mild buzzing that scares our group of intrepid explorers. Scares Mahtis so much, in fact, that she moves at a pace further into the den without any thought or care for what is to come. And she promptly falls into an expertly covered pit. The group is beginning to learn that kobolds are, in fact, experts in traps. Nursing her wounds from the fall into the 10' deep pit, Mahtis waits for the rescue rope to be passed down to enable her to get back up. While the others are faffing about handing the rope from one to the other, she looks into one of the 4 quite large holes that are in the walls surrounding the pit. And sees a movement beyond. Sensibly, Mahtis puts her torch into the hole, which serves to stop whatever is down there from emerg...

Session 2 - The One Where They Wandered Randomly

13th Sep 2020 19:45 - 22:15 In-game timeline: DR1489 Elesias 2 - Eleasias 4 A short while was spent re-investigating the dead kobolds and checking the area for tracks. The only obvious tracks were from a single kobold, heading south-east, seemingly at a quick pace. Our 'Heroes' decided to follow these tracks, in the absence of finding any Dragonborn tracks. The tracks led through the wood to the edge, and off towards some hills in the near distance. As the party approached the edge of the wood, they came upon a cut-scene strange event evolving before them. The group hid in the trees, some hiding a lot better than others, but luckily the group of creatures they had seen ahead of them were too distracted to notice even the glinting armour of a certain paladin, clanking around the bushes. At the base of the hills ahead of them, a group of four large and well-armoured goblin-oids were carrying a covered palanquin between them and were jogging northwards. Behind them was ...

Handout - Gwen's Journal

Journal of Gwen, aspiring wizard Much of this journal goes into quite boring detail on where they travel, what they have to eat, minor encounters they have with wildlife etc. She focuses a lot on her own magics, emphasizing when she manages to successfully cast a useful spell, which doesn’t seem to be very often. Of more interest is the final entry....   Approaching Midsummer’s Day We’ve stopped overnight at yet another camp by a wood. Woderick brought along some of that excellent Goblin Brew ale that he purchased (at great expense!) from the inn in Oakhurst. Woderick even charged us to drink some of it, the tight bastard, but it was worth it – lovely stuff! I think Woderick had a little too much of it, though – he was convinced the bushes nearby were moving. We had great fun at his expense, winding him up and pretending to be bushes out to kill him! Come to think of it, maybe we’ve all had a bit too much beer. We head out tomorrow in search of this magic sword, Dr...
