Session 30 - The One Where Mahtis Takes One For The Team

19th Feb 2022 19:00 - 22:30

In-game timeline: DR1489 Eleint 9 - Eleint 10

Our "Heroes" are discussing. At length. Followed by more discussion. It's a wonder our "Heroes" ever left their respective home towns at all.

They have a plan. They spend a day talking and finding out more information. And end up with pretty much the same plan as they started with. But they are more confident of its success. Fools.

The "Heroes" are keen to find out more information about when the slave galley ship will arrive and how long it will stay for before leaving. They believe the best way of finding out this information is to talk to the Dockmaster, Jorell.

So they head to his office under the pretence of Wussy-Boy and Walls looking for work on the docks. They get very short shrift from the half-elf, who simply directs them to the chief Dock-hand. They do note that Jorell seemed a little "interested" in Walls, however - something which they ignore - for now at least. But Wussy and Walls do manage to get work at the docks and integrate themselves a little with the dock workers.

Minstrel meanwhile has a chat with Bryn to get a bit more clarification on some of the issues and some more information about what is going on. He eventually finds work playing sets at the tavern and manages to get some radiant tokens for his efforts, as well as being able to listen to various conversations going on around the bar.

Pig tries his hand at weightlifting at the gym. He's not very good at it. Midge is sympathetic, and forms a training plan for the noble elf. Pig struggles to find out much information as he is too busy trying to lift a small weight above his head. He decides to offer his skills as an artist to offer tattoo designs. Unfortunately he has no skills as an artist and his designs are terrible. He delegates to Minstrel. Minstrel struggles to understand what Pig is asking for. Midge humours Pig when he presents 'his' efforts, and pins them up on the wall much in the same way that a parent displays their child's crayon drawings.

The plan remains. To try to take over the slavers galley, ideally when the slaves are aboard. If they can get some weapons for the slaves to use. They will try to take out the ballistae on the towers, to prevent them firing on the boat as it leaves, and if they can distract, or slow down, the guards, that would help too.

Walls wants to find out a bit more about when the slavers galley is planning to arrive and leave, and, if possible, find out more about where her sister may be located. She decides to use her feminine charms on Jorell at his office. They work, but he invites her to the brothel next door. She declines… for now. And learns nothing.

The following day more plans are discussed, and rumours are listened out for. Very little is learned. Walls heads to Jorell in the evening and invites him to the brothel next door. They enter a room and…

… Walls zips up her tunic and leaves. She has learned very little, other than a small amount of info about the incoming slavers galley. I hope her efforts were worth it.

They meet up again later in the evening. Walls is rather quiet. They all meet with Bryn and have a discussion about their plan, which is still in the process of being firmed up, but is getting clearer. At least in places.

And so we leave our "Heroes" the night before Bree's ship leaves and the slavers galley arrives and their plan, such as it is, will be put into action. Good luck! They'll need it!
